Our Work

A community-driven, intergenerational strategy that recognizes the entire network surrounding a young person as key to their mental wellbeing preventative care and shifts mental wellness from a clinical model to a preventative, community-integrated practice.

VISION

CIRCLE OF CARE

To normalize conversations around mental wellbeing, replacing fear with hope. We envision communities where youth and their entire circle of care thrive, equipped with tools, resources and understanding to foster emotional intelligence and connect across generations, building a proactive, preventive, and supportive ecosystem for all.

WHY

A UNIVERSAL NEED

Mental wellness is a universal human need. We focus on connection, resilience, and belonging — not labels or deficits. We seek a future where youth and their circle of care are seen, heard, and supported — not pathologized. Caring for your mental wellbeing should not begin at crisis — it should be embedded in everyday relationships, routines, and environments that foster safety and trust

Our Evolution

A MINDFUL APPROACH

For over 14 years, we delivered nationally recognized PreK–12 programs bringing mindful awareness into schools, reaching over two million students. What began as in-class and after-school programming evolved into a mission to provide upstream, preventive mental wellbeing support — helping children build emotional resilience, self-awareness, and lifelong wellbeing.

CIRCLE OF CARE

As the needs of young people and their communities have grown more complex, we have come to understand that lasting wellbeing reaches beyond learning environments. It relies on the strength of each child’s circle of care — the network of family members, educators, mentors, and community supporters who shape their lives.

WAY

In response, we evolved into Wellbeing Action for Youth (“WAY”) — a new chapter focused on youth and their ecosystem of support. Our approach is holistic and community-rooted, centering connection, emotional wellbeing, and the shared responsibility of care.

Our Model

Circle of Care

A community-driven, intergenerational strategy that recognizes the entire network surrounding a young person as key to their mental wellbeing and shifts mental wellness from a clinical model to a preventative, community-integrated practice.

Our work builds upon a continuum of care model — understanding that mental wellbeing support must be layered, adaptable, and inclusive of diverse needs. One size does not fit all. Instead of relying solely on diagnosis and clinical intervention, we emphasize human connection, proactive support, and community resilience.

Our Approach

ACCESSIBLE PROGRAMMING

Offered in familiar, trusted spaces where families naturally connect and engage — places like community centers, libraries, local shops, sporting events, and other active gathering hubs.

EVIDENCE-BASED RESOURCES

Tools, education, and training grounded in upstream prevention science—developed in collaboration with mental wellbeing experts, national nonprofits, and evidence-based research programs.

DIGITAL PLATFORM

A curated online hub featuring mental wellbeing resources and innovations from nonprofits across the country — centered on our three core pillars: mindful awareness, active listening, and compassionate curiosity.

WellBeing Pillars

1

MINDFUL AWARENESS

Helps build emotional regulation and self-awareness, while also reducing stress and burnout in today’s fast-paced, always-on world.

2

ACTIVE LISTENING

In a world where communication styles vary across generations and technologies, active listening is one of our most vital tools. It helps us slow down, tune in, and truly hear one another — building deeper understanding and connection.

3

COMPASSIONATE CURIOSITY

Fosters empathetic understanding and thoughtful response. It’s about genuinely seeking to understand another person’s experience—and learning how to respond with empathy, care, and openness.
